With seven years as an ICU nurse and four years teaching clinical neuroscience in the hospital setting, I now work as a neuroscience nurse practitioner in the inpatient and outpatient setting. I am board certified as an Adult Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. I have certifications as a Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse, as well as, a Stroke Certified Registered Nurse through the American Board of Neuroscience Nursing. I am also a teacher and provider of basic life support and advanced cardiac life support. I have been a guest lecturer for multiple Associate Degree Nursing programs, as well as, the local chapter of American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
I enjoy teaching the basic concepts of anatomy, physiology and pharmacology, as well as, safe and effective nursing care. Though my certifications are in neurology, I have privately tutored and have been preceptor to nursing students, as well as, nursing residents.
Appropriate student needs include human anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, patient care, evidence based practice, critical decision making and nursing ethics.
My teaching strengths include breaking down complicated concepts with relatable explanations. If you are struggling with nursing school or just want to get ahead of the curve, I can help.
