About Tyler

Bio

Hey there! I graduated from High School as Valedictorian and from there continued my education at the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana. I graduated with my Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. While there I maintained a 3.8 GPA. I also helped to create a Robotics Team and worked part time throughout my schooling. Engineering was a good fit for me because I have always had a particular interest in math and science.

This is the first time I have done tutoring professionally but I have years of experience helping my fellow classmates with their schoolwork when they were struggling with a particular subject. I have always been the guy people know they can come to for help when they do not fully grasp a concept being taught. I take a problem solving approach to tutoring. If someone is struggling, it's not that they aren't smart enough, they probably just did not understand the material the way it was taught. I look for alternative ways to explain or teach the subject so it can finally "click" for the student. Witnessing firsthand the transition from struggling to understanding and "solving the problem" are what makes it all worth it to me.

My experience with math includes everything from elementary level through differential equations. I have never received below an A in any math class. I especially enjoy teaching Middle School and High School level math but I am open to all opportunities to help students improve.

Physics is a very interesting subject but it can be extremely difficult for students to grasp the fundamentals and apply them to understand deeper concepts. I have taken both High School and College level physics classes and have helped plenty of students gain the understanding necessary to excel in this complex subject.

I am primarily available nights and weekends but I am willing to adjust scheduling to find the best times to help the student. If you have any additional questions or wish to schedule a lesson please do not hesitate to contact me!
