About Brian

Attention all students and learners of all ages and levels (preferably high school and college)!:

Hello there! My name is Brian. I am a Spanish and Italian major and a Linguistics minor. I currently attend and tutor at College of DuPage and I will be transferring to the University of Illinois at Chicago this fall. I have had a 4.0 GPA my entire time at COD. I am an avid linguist who speaks fluent Spanish, nearly fluent Italian, a lot of French, a decent amount of German, and a little French and Portuguese. I also am an ESL tutor who has worked with several English language learners from all over the world. Helping students learn and study languages is one of my absolute passions. Please read the following for further subjects I can help with!

Are you or someone you know looking for a private tutor? I can help you with that! If you are interested in having me as a tutor for personal or academic purposes, I would love to help! I can tutor/and or teach Spanish, Italian, some French, some German, ESL (English as a Second Language), Linguistics, Psychology, Sociology, Music (beginning classes or even Saxophone), etc.

I am also willing to help you with study skills, time management, and how to be a good student in other classes that I may not have a lot of knowledge in.

I have an immense amount of foreign language and ESL tutoring and over five years of rich general tutoring experience having worked with a diverse range of clientele. If you need general help, or even if you're interested in learning a language, please contact me and we can set up appointments and rates for the tutoring sessions! Message me for my number or e-mail if necessary.

PLEASE SHARE THIS WITH ANYONE WHO MAY BE INTERESTED!

Thanks so much!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ESL/ESOL

I have a lot of experience tutoring students in ESL from all over the world. I have worked with them in 1 on 1 sessions, small group sessions, and groups as large as 15 students. I specialize with conversational skills, grammar, and pronunciation. I speak English as my native language, I am fluent in Spanish and Italian, I know a good amount of French, and a little Polish, Portuguese, and German. As a linguist, I may know your language and may be able to better help you by knowing and understanding how your language works.

General Music

I have taken two rigorous college music classes. One was an introduction to music appreciation, which was essentially about music in general, ranging from history to composition. I also took a world music class. Additionally, I have been a musician (saxophonist/hobbyist singer) for over 10 years and was in band all throughout 4th-5th grade, middle school, and high school.

Saxophone

I have played Tenor and Baritone Saxophone for over 10 years. I have performed in Superstate Competitions in middle school and high school as well as in Symphonic band in high school. I can read music and tutor performance skills/techniques from my rich experience playing as a saxophonist is symphonic/concert, marching, and jazz bands.

Spanish

Spanish is one of the majors that I study. (Italian is the other major I study) I speak Spanish fluently and have tutored and taught Spanish for three years now. I speak Italian nearly fluently, a lot of French, and a little Polish, Portuguese, and German. I specialize in language tutoring, especially grammar and pronunciation, but can and will help with any linguistic aspect!

Track & Field

I was a sprinter and hurdler all throughout middle school and high school. Running has always been a passion for me and when I was an upperclassman and my coach was not around, I became the temporary coach for my fellow hurdlers. Track and field has taught me the importance of persevering and being a healthy and active person.
