In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a retired photography/graphic design instructor of 34 years. I have taught at both the college and high school levels using both film and digital processes. Recently I have opened a photography studio in downtown Lombard, IL where I conduct small classes and shoot weddings, special events, portraits, etc. My teaching method is strictly hands on with students working with their cameras in different shooting situations. I have a BFA from The Art Institute of Chicago majoring in photography and teacher education. My academics were taken at the University of Chicago. I have a Masters of Teacher Education (MED) from National Louis University.
