I have lived most of my life in Illinois. I went to university in Illinois where I received my undergraduate degree in Fine Art with a concentration in visual documentary. I spent two years during my undergraduate study doing visual documentary in Poland and Italy. My idea was to capture local life on camera. This I believe is what led to my interest in sociology and social psychology. My graduate studies were completed in Warsaw Poland at the Graduate School of Social Research. I was fortunate to have studied under noted scholars i.e. Anthony Giddens and Zygmunt Bauman. I was also privileged to have studied with a diverse student body; young people from all over central and eastern Europe. I participated numerous field research projects applying qualitative methods in the local communities of the Polish eastern borderland and in the Ukraine. My experience there has shaped my approach to society in that I recognize and stress the local arena of social interaction as a more valid social reality than the macro sphere of society.

My professional teaching experiences have been several semesters at university in the Sociology Dept. where I taught Cultural Diversity and Research Methods. I also taught English as a second language for 12 years in Poland to a variety of age groups; 13 - 50. I have lived most of my life in Illinois. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I earned my doctorate in sociology and social psychology from The Graduate School for Social Research (GSSR) at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, which is a highly acclaimed and accredited European university. I have participated numerous graduate research projects (qualitative field work) conducted through accredited European universities. I have publications in field of my expertise including doctoral dissertation.
