I recently scored a 523 (132 C/P, 130 CARS, 131 B/B, 130 P/S) on the MCAT in the 99th percentile. I have taken many science, mathematics, and humanities courses from organic chemistry (scored an A- both semesters) to multivariable calculus (scored an A) to AP English Language (scored an A- both semesters).

I have tutored 20+ students in math and science subjects such as Chemistry, Biology, Algebra 2, and Pre-Calculus. Through college, I worked with elementary and middle school students from Fall 2014 to Winter 2015 to aid them in improving their understanding of math and science. I have also tutored over 50 people online for free through my SAT Guide on how to score an 800 on the Critical Reading section.

I love tutoring because I enjoy working one-on-one with others to help them gain a better understanding of a subject and improve their knowledge and problem-solving abilities. I especially enjoy explaining concepts in a simpler way so you will "get it" and fully understand. I am very excited at this opportunity to help you - please feel free to sign up for a lesson with me and I will do my best to help you.

I have scored 36 on ACT Math, 800 on SAT Math, 800 on the SAT Math II Subject Test, A's in all high school math courses (algebra, honors geometry, honors advanced algebra, honors precalculus, AP Calculus BC, Multivariable Calculus, and Linear Algebra), and I have had experience tutoring high school students in math courses.

I have also scored 36 on ACT Science, 800 on the SAT Chemistry subject test, 770 on the SAT Biology M subject test, A's in most high school science courses (Honors Chemistry, AP Chemistry, Honors Biology, AP Biology, Enriched Physics, and Advanced Chemistry). I love science and explaining how the concepts work in pr

Knowledgeable, patient and efficient tutor

With James, we focused on the CARS section of the MCAT. He taught me various strategies such as analyzing and taking the main idea in a very concise manner. His various approach to the passage and questions opened my mind greatly given that I would read the question which would then fade away when reading the answer choices! He takes the time necessary to explain how to process information and come up with the correct answer, as well as pinpoint alternatives to tackling specific questions. I would recommend him!

Ana , 3 lessons with James

Very helpful, thanks!

My daughter was having trouble with lab calculations, and her session with James was helpful and productive. We had tried another tutor the day before (someone in the neighborhood) and it wasn't that great. Glad that James was really able to help her.

Fantastic!

We couldn't be happier with James--he did a great job helping our son in Geometry. Our son had been struggling with a particular concept, but James straightened him out. He's very knowledgeable, accessible, and patient. We highly recommend him!

Lauren, 1 lesson with James
Tutor responded:

Thank you very much for your review, Lauren! I enjoyed working with your son in Geometry and improving his understanding.

Patient and thorough tutor

Initially I was skeptical to find a tutor online, but James truly surpassed my expectations. He's very knowledgable in chemistry and has the ability to explain complex/confusing concepts simply and most importantly, clearly. The concept of acids and bases is typically a difficult unit in chemistry, but with his instruction, James resolved my confusions surrounding this topic.

Jonathan , 5 lessons with James
Tutor responded:

Thank you for your kind words, Jonathan. I am glad I have been able to help resolve confusions over chemistry concepts!

A great tutor

Knowledgeable and thorough

Really good with Adam explaining the topic. Very flexible too! James appeared to be very attentive and demonstrated genuine interest for Adam to really understand the topic while using positive reinforcement which I appreciated very much.
