Riga Institute of Technology (Chemical Engineering)
My name is Frieda. I am originally from the former Soviet Union, where I earned my degree in chemical engineering. I have lived in this country for 36 years and worked as a chemical engineer throughout this time. Russian is my primary language but I have been fluent in English for over 30 years. To regularly keep up my language skills, I read Russian books and newspapers, and speak the language on a daily basis among friends and family.
I have recently retired from my career in chemistry and am seeking part time work to help others improve their Russian language skills. I would love to share my knowledge with others and I feel that Russian is a wonderful and exciting language. I also enjoy meeting and working with new people, and so tutoring felt like a good fit. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at anytime. My name is Frieda. I am originally from the former Soviet Union, where I earned my degree in chemical engineering. Confidence in and a feeling that all questions and needs for clarifications and interpretations will be fully met by Madam Frieda C.
Frieda tailors the lesson to my learning style and therefore we converse in Russian. She knows I love to read and has provided interesting, easy and challenging articles for me to read between lessons.
Frieda is an incredible tutor! My 12 year old son LOVES her. He very much looks forward to their weekly sessions. She challenges him enough so that he is not bored. He is learning so much about the Russian language!
I had a great lesson with Frieda. She was very nice and I learned a lot. She was very helpful!
I have really enjoyed my lessons with Frieda. She is very patient and interesting. She also encourages using real life language. I highly recommend her!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I feel I am very well qualified to teach Russian because it is my native language. I speak it on a daily basis, and continue to read and write in the language as well. I have used Russian extensively throughout my education, and have also become fluent in English when I arrived in the United States. This combined fluency in both Russian and English I feel places me in a unique position to help students learn the Russian language quickly and easily. I have also taught my children the language, and am working on teaching my grandaughter as well.
