My love of teaching and tutoring French and German to students of all ages has given me personal satisfaction throughout much of my life. I have been fortunate to have had experience in teaching both of these languages for over 25 years to students ranging in age from 5 years old to high school age in both private and public school settings. I have also had the pleasure of teaching individuals who became expatriates. All my students experience success by obtaining in-depth knowledge of French or German through a review of schoolwork including grammatical and cultural explanations, as well as practice in conversation and comprehension. Depending upon the situation, I would gladly provide additional homework or worksheets as supplementary material.

I was raised in a bilingual home where German was spoken. It was in this setting that I realized the importance of knowing more than one language, and I take pride in the fact that I continued to pass this tradition on to my own children and grandchildren. I speak German daily with my family and maintain my fluency in French through active conversational, speaking and cultural groups, as well as French television. Through exposure to other cultures by speaking and studying multiple languages, I have found that one becomes a more open-minded worldly individual, an achievement that contributes to success in life.
