I have been tutoring since I was in high school. I am patient with all levels of students, and my explanations are clear and insightful. My examples are relevant and instructive. I don't mind repeating or reviewing material, as needed by the student. I have a secure grasp of concepts and problem-solving skills for all levels of math through calculus and differential equations.
I have taught math at the junior college level for 8 years. The subjects I have taught include pre-algebra, algebra 1 and 2, trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus, differential equations, and statistics. I consistently receive high marks on my evaluations from students. Over the years I have worked with many students outside the classroom to give them extra help, and I have helped many of my students improve their performance in this way. David tutored my h.s. freshman son in algebra 2 honors material. He responded to my email right away and made himself available as we needed him the following day. David was very patient and encouraging with my son. My son took several breaks and David never rushed him. He used his time wisely with my son to narrow in on exactly what my son was not understanding. He didn't engage in small talk or chit chat, but was a serious tutor who got right down to business. My son's feedback was very positive. He learned well from David and will work with him again in the future.
My son really enjoys his meetings with David. He says that they help him a lot at school. He did well on the semester exam, and his geometry grade is going back up.
David has taught me short cuts that would definitely save me a lot of time on the test. He is always making sure that I understand what the problem is asking before I try to solve the problem.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I scored a 5 on the AP Calculus BC exam in high school. I earned a grade of A in Calculus I and II in high school, as well as in Calculus III in college. I taught calculus at a local junior college for two semesters, and I consistently received high marks from my students on their evaluations.
I earned an A in pre-calculus as a junior in high school. I have a master's degree in math, which required mastery of calculus itself as well as much material beyond calculus.
I received an A in trigonometry as a junior in high school. As I have a master's degree in math, I have mastered much material in math beyond trigonometry, including calculus I, II, and III. I taught one semester of trigonometry at a local junior college, and I consistently received high marks from my students on their evaluations.
