Trinity International University, Deerfield, IL (Mathematics)
My name is David. I am currently in my final semester at Trinity International University about to graduate with a B.A. in Mathematics. Previously, I attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for two years as a Computer Science and Statistics major. The reason that I left the University of Illinois was the financial burden involved in pursuing a degree in Mathematics combined with my goal of playing collegiate volleyball.
In high school, I took and received credit for AP Calculus as well as AP Statistics plus other non-math related courses. I scored a 34 on my ACT, with a 35 on math and a 36 on reading. While math is my primary focus, I am available to tutor all sections for the ACT.
With my tutoring, I believe in first learning where the student stands on the material, and I usually request that they bring an old exam or something similar to make sure that we can choose an accurate starting point.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

I believe that this needs to be done for David. His patience, knowledge, approach was all that we wanted for our son. He did not have much time with our son because we found David too late but the short time he did spend with our son was very rewarding. With the little time he had David was able to touch on the things that he was having difficulties with and Dave was able to give him some quick pointers to help him work through it. I will continue to use David and would highly recommend David to friends family and anyone else interested in using a really good, knowledgeable, and skilled tutor. He was the best so far. Thank you.
My one tutoring session with David restored the faith that I had lost in tutoring. I have always felt that no one can help me understand concepts I'm struggling with and it's better to just go it alone. David was so patient and never made me feel insecure for even the simplest concepts that I've been told I "should" know. I've never felt so relaxed and free to be honest about what I don't understand. When we were working together I felt like I could actually grasp what he was saying, where in class I feel totally lost. I would definitely recommend David to anyone who has a difficult time with statistics and mathematics in general.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
