As a musician Monika offers private voice lessons, she has been studying classical voice performance/opera for 9+ years. Monika teaches voice lessons for children, teens, and adults of all levels, from beginners to advanced musicians. Furthermore, she offers tutoring sessions in music theory for aspiring music students who are entering college, and students who are already enrolled in first or second year collegiate level theory courses.
Monika has been singing for nearly 15 years, ever since she was a little girl. However, she started to take private lessons early on in middle school when she realized singing was her passion. For the past 9 years Monika has been training her voice classically and professionally studying opera. Through Monika's own experience singing in the music business, performing alongside world class musicians, studying ear training and music theory, and winning international competitions, she wants to help you achieve your personal goals as a musician!
Recently, in November 2020 Monika received first place in the Charleston International Romantic Music Competition. In February 2020, Monika received second place in a collegiate voice competition for undergraduate students called the "Fox Valley Orchestra Collegiate Voice Competition". Monika has played/studied principle and comprimario roles in various operas as well, overseas and in the United States.
This past summer Monika studied at the Berlin Opera Academy with esteemed mentors and musicians from all parts of the world! Despite the pandemic, Monika was still able to study the role of Zerlina through Chicago Summer Opera's Virtual Academy in 2020 while also partaking in Colorado's virtual Steamboat Opera program that very summer as well! On the side, Monika cantors at many religious occasions in the Chicago area.
