I graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education. I taught private piano in my home before becoming a librarian. I took a class in piano pedagogy at our local junior college.
I have worked as a substitute teacher from kindergarten to high school. My first background is in music and English. For one year, I taught English composition to college freshmen. After becoming a librarian, I worked in public libraries, a hospital, and a major research medical university. In order to receive tenure, I published in peer reviewed journals and have authored several book chapters. I ran teaching sessions for both medical residents and medical faculty.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a Greek Orthodox Christian from birth. I read and study the Bible daily and am also developing familiarity with the writings of the Church Fathers and Mothers. The Orthodox services are all based on the Bible, as is the Church calendar. I am currently reading Charles Stanley's Life Principles Daily Bible, Unlocking the Bible Omnibus by David Pawson, Know Your Bible, Grace for the Moment by Max Lucado, and By Way of the Desert by Bangley. I attended a Lutheran grade school from kindergarten to sixth grade and a Roman Catholic high school. I taught for six years at a Catholic high school.
