I've been tutoring people, of all ages, in the subject of English most of my life. As a grade school and high school student I excelled in the subject, and often helped my peers improve their spelling and grammar skills. As a college student, I tutored my peers who needed help proofreading their papers and meeting criteria in their prospective classes. As an adult, I've tutored children and adults alike. I graduated high school with honors, and I never received anything lower than an A in any English class I was ever enrolled in. This includes college courses. I can help you better understand the confusing rules of idioms, metaphors, similes, punctuation, sentence structure and more. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
