I am a foreign-licensed medical doctor from the Philippines, now US based as a legal permanent resident. I have a 14 year experience in teaching Anatomy-Physiology, Histology, Microbiology and Parasitology to Nursing, Dental Medicine and Clinical Laboratory Science students in 2 major universities. For this, I was awarded a Distinguished Award in 2010. I was also a practicing clinician and pathologist.
Right now, I am a visiting professor at DeVry University and the University of Phoenix, Chicago. I was a part time lecturer at an LVN/ASN school in Stockton, California before moving to Chicago. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been teaching Microbiology subjects to Nursing and Clinical Laboratory Science students in the Philippines for the past 13 years. Being a Fellow in Clinical Pathology from the Philippine Society of Pathologists, Inc which necessitates passing a specialty exam of which Microbiology is 1 of the major subjects and a 1st hand work experience in a Microbiology laboratory in 2 different medical institutions for the past 13 years have equipped me with the knowledge and skills to teach the subject and clinically correlate it.
I am a foreign licensed medical doctor and I have been in clinical practice for the past 18 years as a family physician with responsibility in clinical assessment, evaluation, diagnosis and treatment. Treatment protocol includes prescribing appropriate medications, computation of drug dose/s based on body weight and other patient considerations and discussion of potential adverse effects and follow up of patient. As an instructor in a nursing and vocational nursing school in Stockton, teaching Pharmacology consisted of lectures and practice exercises for dose computations for oral, parenteral and other modes of drug administration.
