I'm a self-taught photographer who has provided professional photography services since 2008. The majority of my business is sports, so if you have ever run a 5k, marathon, mud run or triathlon, chances are I've taken a photo of you! I also do a good amount of portraits, events and weddings to keep my business well-rounded.
My background is in the technical field. I approach photography in a logical aspect and I can freely admit that I'm not the most creative or artistic person that you will come across. What does make me successful is that I know the camera inside and out and know how to apply the techniques to create a beautiful image. I am available to tutor photography basics and how to use a DSLR, advanced topics such as low light shooting and HDR, post-process editing, and one-on-one or group sessions. I love sharing my passion about photography and cannot wait to help get your journey started! I'm a self-taught photographer who has provided professional photography services since 2008. I went to Ed thinking I was a lost cause. I had purchased a nice new camera, but had know idea how to use it unless it was in auto mode. Ed changed all that. Upon arriving it was apparent that Ed is very professional and knowledgeable. He had professional grade equipment and also showed me some of the work he has done. He let me decide what types of photos I was most interested in taking and we went from there. I now have the confidence to whip out my camera and adjust my settings appropriately.
He was patient when I had to ask the same question over and over again just so I could memorize it. But he also challenged me during our hands on moment with the camera, allowing me to adjust the setting and then correcting me and explaining what I did wrong.
Overall Ed is very knowledgeable and was quick to understand my needs and abilities. He's able to teach those that know nothing to those that want to get into photography professionally.
As soon as I have more hands on experience with the knowledge that Ed has given me, I will be booking another session with Ed.
Thank you Ed!
As an amateur photographer (if that), I've learned most about what I know of photography through Instagram. So needless to say, not much. Ed was able to walk me through the more technical side of both taking and editing photos, while also making the techniques applicable to work I do on social media. He was friendly, organized, knowledgeable and very easy to talk to. It felt more like I was hanging with a friend giving me the insider scoop than a tutor with an hourly rate. Once I take the plunge into purchasing a DSLR camera, I'll definitely me scheduling another lesson full of hands-on training on how to put it to use. Whether a beginner or looking to brush up on old skills, Ed's your guy--highly recommended!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
