BLACKBURN COLLEGE (Biology)
I have a B.A. in Biology. I graduated with honors and have experience tutoring/teaching internationally. Most recently I returned from a six week stay in Peru teaching basic English. Though I am well-rounded in tutoring various subjects, my stronger subjects are in the field of science. I specialize in tutoring Anatomy & Physiology, Micro and Molecular Biology, Zoology, and have experience preparing students for GRE studies. I also excel in preparing students for presentations/public speaking.
I take pride in being the first person in my family to have successfully completed a college degree. The means and methods that I developed to become a solid student are the same practices I will instill in my students. If you are trusting me to invest my time and efforts to help you, then you will have 100% of my abilities as a tutor at your service. I am flexible on time and location. I am not opposed to traveling closer to the student, or meeting in a preferred location by the student, so long as that location is suitable for learning/studying.
I look forward to hearing back from you and having the opportunity to help you succeed in your goals! I have a B.A. in Biology. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taken multiple anatomy and physiology courses. This includes comparative vertebrate anatomy, animal physiology, and three human anatomy and physiology courses. The total college credit hours accumulated in these classes is twenty, and spent an average of fifteen hours weekly assisting fellow students in lab work and studies.
My B.A. degree is in Biology. My college G.P.A. in my classes dealing specifically with my major was a 3.7. I exceeded in botany, genetics, zoology, molecular and microbiology, and medical terminology. I also kept all of my learning materials and books as reference points to aid in studying and staying fresh on terms and details.
I have experience in both lecture and lab study sessions in regards to prepping and leading said sessions for Zoology. I also have over twenty credit hours experience in zoological studies/labs. As a student, we were required to teach a certain segment of each lab. As a tutor, I would use similar methods to help the student better learn the topic being studied.
