I have an undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa in English with a specialization in creative and non fiction writing, as well as a minor in mass communication (journalism). I also hold a Master of Arts in Teaching degree in Secondary Education from National Louis University. Additionally, I am in the process of earning a Special Education endorsement to add to my current teaching certificate. I would welcome the opportunity to assist your student with reading/reading comprehension skills, writing/ pre writing organization, grammar, vocab, study skills/note taking skills, and college essays. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
