Hello and thank you for considering me as your and/or your student's tutor! My name is Erica, and I have been working in the education field for the past six years. I began teaching at academic discipline-based, Harry Potter camps, where I facilitated history, plant science, cooking, and writing classes with students ranging from 4 years old to adult in Illinois and Pennsylvania. After studying and earning my B.A. in English Education at Northern Illinois University, I worked in public schools as a middle school Language Arts teacher and high school American Literature teacher. My time spent in the school district also included after-school tutoring in multiple subjects including Algebra, American History, and Environmental Science.
I've also taught college-level courses including Basic Writing, Film Appreciation, English Composition I, and English Composition II.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
