I have been a substitute teacher for more than 10 years in elementary, middle, and high school across all subject areas. My Bachelors Degree from Kent State University in Ohio is in Secondary Education -English/Psychology. My Masters Degree from Northern Illinois University is in Reading. I later received a Paralegal Certification from Elgin Community College and added Social Studies to my Teacher Certification. I have also studied ESL and Special Education.
I have four children and five grandchildren. My major hobby is music. I studied piano for 10 years at Hruby Conservatory in Cleveland, Ohio and also Classical Guitar. I love working with children and helping them improve their skill levels and broaden their horizons.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
