Hi there! I'm Dylan, a Columbia University graduate with a B.A. Magna Cum Laude in East Asian Languages and Cultures. In high school, I worked as a school-employed tutor for the Math, Science and English Language departments, and received excellent feedback from the students I taught. My favorite part of tutoring is seeing the spark of understanding light up a student's face when the concepts begin to make more sense. While my students often improve their grades after our work together, I make it my priority to foster their curiosity, creativity, and ensure that they truly grasp the concepts / the "why" behind each piece of information. While working on problems, I have my students explain to me not only the questions they get wrong, but also why their right answers were correct. This method serves my goal of enabling my students to think independently and appreciate the inherent intellectual value of the subject. At the end of a session, I want my students to feel confident and have an intuitive feel for their studies.

Some of My Qualifications:
- Published as an essayist in the nationally syndicated magazine Commentary
-Near perfect scores on New York State Algebra 1, Algebra 2/ Trigonometry and Geometry Regents exams
- 5 on the AP Calculus AB exam
- 32 on the ACT Math section
-Number one scoring student in AP calculus AB class. Often assisted other students with practice drills
-Majored in East Asian Studies in college and advanced up to the highest Fifth-Year level Japanese language class
-More than one year of experience studying abroad and working in Japan
-5 on the AP Spanish Literature Exam with departmental honors in high school
-5 on the AP English Literature examination
-32 on ACT English
-34 on ACT Reading
-Experience working with both international and US students to help refine and improve the clarity of their writing
