Hello! My name is Mulan and I recently graduated summa cum laude from Northwestern University with a Bachelor's degree, majoring in neuroscience and minoring in psychology and Spanish. Through my academic experience in school and in test prep for ACT/SAT and the MCAT, I have developed strategies that help me learn effectively, and I would love to share them with other students. I will provide my students with resources and formulate a plan that suits each individual. I will not just teach the content, but also demonstrate its applications so that the topic feels more relevant and tangible to my student. Furthermore, I will always ensure that my student has enough time to absorb the information and practice on their own for them to truly grasp the concepts. I will teach at a pace that will not overwhelm the student, but will be fast enough to stimulate my student's interest and keep them advancing.
As a pre-med and a graduate that majored in neuroscience and minored in psychology, I have taken plenty of science courses and also scored highly due to my study strategies. I was also a source to my peers in these classes and was able to explain certain concepts when they needed my assistance. Furthermore, I have experience in guiding students to success, as I was a freshman mentor while I was a high school student. Not only did I help my group academically, but I also helped them navigate the pressures of social life, extracurriculars, and college admission.
Also, I scored in the 99th percentile for the ACT and the 97th percentile for the MCAT because I rapidly identified the recurring patterns and understood how the test makers wanted to students to respond. I, too, once struggled with achieving the scores I had in mind, and it took months of studying the right way to be satisfied with my performance. I recognized how much more approachable the test becomes once I understood the tips and tricks.
I always want the best for students and their journey in learning, so I am always willing to adjust according to
