Vittorio is a wonderful tutor and I highly recommend him to anyone who would like to learn Italian. I am just taking a few lessons to prepare myself for an upcoming trip to Rome and he's been great about teaching me some basics to order food, travel around the city, and enjoy the sights. He is a native Italian from Rome so of course his Italian is perfect and also he has fascinating inside info about the city (for instance he told me the city's best chocolate shop is right by the hotel where I will be staying - so excited about that!). I really appreciate his being so flexible and patient with me just wanting to get a "taste" of Italian. I know he normally works longer with students who are working to become fluent and I'm sure he's fantastic teaching those types of classes as well.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
