Hi, I'm Jesus! I graduated from Elgin High School ranked #3 out of 500+ students with a 4.0 unweighted GPA and a 4.8 weighted GPA. I currently attend Northwestern University and maintain a 3.858 GPA, having made the Dean's List for 3 out of 3 quarters. I plan on double majoring in Math and Econ, with a minor in Spanish. My passion and interest in mathematics began at an early age because working with numbers allowed me to explore the world in such a fascinating and precise manner. My passion for mathematics was reinforced by teachers and professors who were very encouraging whenever I needed additional help. I wish to instill this passion for mathematics in the students I work with, as mathematics can be such an enjoyable subject when it is taught in an engaging manner. I plan on working with students via a lesson plan in which I make sure they understand the fundamentals and then build on the fundamentals in a creative manner so that they can enjoy "playing" with math (because who doesn't love games?). I'll make sure that the main focus is on understanding and practicing the content and if the student feels comfortable, we can tackle more difficult problems so that they can enjoy exploring new ideas in a supportive environment.

My tutoring experience mainly comes from practicing problem-solving with my peers in the classroom as I'd often find myself playing the role of a teacher and I really learned to enjoy tutoring because I could help others navigate through the puzzle that math can be at times. Additionally, I have a younger brother and I have frequently worked with him by teaching him mathematical concepts, which has allowed me to communicate my ideas to a variety of audiences, whether they be my age or younger.
