I have had much experience in teaching foreign languages (Italian and French) and some in teaching English as a Second Language. I have been teaching for 20 years. I was born in Italy, and have travelled throughout Europe and Canada and Mexico. I love languages and people. It pleases me when I see my students learn. They tell me that I make it easy for them to understand the language.
My students' interests help me to accomodate my lessons to the students' individual learning style. I use fun ways to learn, with games, and props. Depending on what the language is being learned for, I create my lessons accordingly. If you are learning the language for a business, then I would teach more of a business language. If you need to learn to pass the class at school, then I would help you get a great grade in that class.
I let students speak freely, and I make corrections only at the end of their statements, because they usually correct themselves after they realize that they have made an error. In this way, I don't interfere with their learning process.
The best place to meet would be at a library or at Dominican University, as they have quiet rooms that can be used for teaching. Some lessons can be done via e-mail.
It would be great to help you learn. Hope to hear from you soon! I have had much experience in teaching foreign languages (Italian and French) and some in teaching English as a Second … Read more

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
