Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ADD/ADHD

I work with students diagnosed with ADD/ADHD at the school I work at. Working with them requires having patience, speaking clearly to them when teaching and giving directions, and having different ways of teaching them.

Autism

I am a special education teacher and have taught students with every type of disability. I have extensive experience in teaching students with autism of all ages. I have taught the lowest non-verbal autistic students up to the Asperger's students who have gotten 32s on the ACT.

Elementary (K-6th)

I am a certified Special Education teacher in grades K-12, with my emphasis in Math and English

Phonics

I am a certified Special Education Teacher teaching high school math, science and English. My emphasis is in math and English. I have taught elementary reading and phonics in the past.

Special Needs

I am a certified Special Education teacher. I hold certifications that allow me to teach K-12.

Study Skills

I am a special education teacher and have a resource class. In resource, we help students in their studies and help them study for tests. We also teach them study skills so they become better at studying on their own.
