I knew in second grade that I wanted to be a teacher. Keeping true to that desire, I became a teacher and taught in the Illinois Public School System for thirty-five years. My first experience was to teach English and reading to eighth grade students. From there, I had success as a high school English and physical education teacher, an elementary and middle school physical education teacher, a middle school counselor, coach, assistant principal and principal.
I am still learning and I love it! I enjoy seeing the "ah ha" that happens when a student understands the concept. Teaching is a passion for me. Watching students grow each day in their understanding of the concepts presented exhilarates me. I've heard that if you love what you do, you never work a day in your life. How true!
In terms of my education, I earned a doctorate degree in Curriculum, Instruction and Educational Psychology at Loyola University in Chicago. My research topic was mentoring, mathematics achievement and self-esteem, and how they interplay with one another.
I graduated with my masters and doctorate degrees with a 4.0/4.0 grade point average.
Do you need some assistance? If yes, I would love to help you achieve your goals!
