I have just returned from the Philippines where I was the Headmaster of an international K-12 school with 170 students. It fulfilled my life long dream to lead an international school with a strong academic and fine arts program. As you can tell by my photo I am highly experienced as a teacher, father,and grandfather. My hobbies include travelling most recently to Toronto, Canada, Beijing, China, and Manilla, Philippines) playing with out two dogs, Max and Buddy. My wife Linda and I spend a great deal of time attending the activities of our grandchildren.
While I have experience teaching all levels from K to university level, I really enjoy teaching beginning and intermediate music lessons, tutoring all subjects K-8 and ESL work with non English speaking students. I can teach in person and via SKYPE. I would love to work with you regardless of your age or ability.

I am an outstanding ADD/ADHD tutor because I am an ADHD/ADD adult. I had to figure my way through it and around it. Now that they have labelled it and put processes in place to cope, I can help students come up with planning strategies that work for them and improve their performance. It was overwhelming before I was formally diagnosed in my late 30's.

Even with subjects you may not enjoy, we will find a way together to see that your satisfaction increases, your stress decreases, and that you make the progress necessary. You can do it! He listens to find out what the student wants, without a pre-set curriculum. I played some and got his feedback, and he also demonstrated a couple of pieces which taught me more about technique than I could learn from struggling on my own. I really enjoyed his approach and I can tell already he's going to challenge me - while making me feel good about it.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a former special education supervisor and music educator. An ADD/ADHD adult, I have worked with students of all ages to deal with this as a gift and not as a disability.
I operate my own career and college counseling business. I redesigned the college and career courses and program for Southeastern Illinois College. A former university director and community college professor, I have worked with high school, college and career transition individuals from age 16-60.
As Headmaster of Noblesse international School, Philippines, I implemented their first college and career program.
I also hold a doctorate in educational leadership.
I have taught early childhood through 6th grade and tutored in all academic areas through 6th grade. I am a former middle school principal and have also served as the principal of a K-123 international school.
I have taught music for thirty years, piano for forty years, and taught K-12 music for 12 years. I hold an undergraduate and graduate degrees in music and operate my own private music studio.
I was in charge of special education and have taught study skills and organization skills to students from elementary to university levels. I completely re-designed the study skills program for Southwestern Illinois College.
I have studied and taught voice for thirty years. I have an undergraduate degree and graduate degree in music with voice and piano emphasis. In additional, I did post-graduate voice study at Indiana University with Walter Cassel. I taught K-12 vocal music in public school also.
