I am an experienced instructor, public speaker, and literacy coach with 18 years of teaching English, reading, drama, art history, career development, public speaking, and speech communication. I have a bachelor's degree in communications, a master's degree in curriculum and instruction, and a master's as a K-12 reading specialist. I am an experienced instructor, public speaker, and literacy coach with 18 years of teaching English, reading, drama, art history, career development, public speaking, and speech communication. I have a bachelor's degree in communications, a master's degree in curriculum and instruction, and a master's as a K-12 reading specialist. I have coached many students as well as professionals in public speaking and presentation techniques, both in-person and online. I ran the Speech Center, taught career development classes, and worked with international students on American English pronunciation and grammar skills while at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Prior to beginning my teaching career, I worked as a professional actor and performed in both community and professional theater and live shows for 20 years.

I value tutoring and coaching that fits individual students' needs and learning styles. I believe that all students who want to learn CAN learn, no matter what their struggles. We just need to find methods and materials that work for that individual. I work closely with students to discover their strengths and their challenges, as only then can I be a successful tutor or coach. Teaching and coaching is a part of me, and the greatest joy always comes from seeing my students learn and succeed.

Jeannie was able to identify my child's deficits and created techniques that were very beneficial for her. She was able to get my child fully engaged during the session.
