About Taylor

I have always had a love of teaching that stems from my childhood of being raised by two educators. As a 4.0 student in my undergrad and a summa cum laude graduate, I understand the importance of hardwork and determination in the classroom. I have an array of knowledge across many subjects, and take pride in my ability to prepare students for tests. I have tutored across many subjects including accounting, anatomy & physiology, chemistry, kinesiology, statistics, and many more. I have also mentored students in the proper studying techniques, and how to be a successful student.

I take great pride in putting a smile on my student's faces, and helping them achieve what they thought they could not. In college I worked primarily with student-athletes even while I played myself for our collegiate basketball team. I have brought student's from a failing grade to a B, and students from C's to A's. I am very proud to say that I have never had a student that did not raise their grade at least a letter grade, and that is a goal I intend on maintaining.

Currently I am very flexible on time, and offer many openings specifically in the evening, but would even be willing to work on weekends. I am also flexible on cancellations, and can reschedule at whatever is convenient to you. I thrive off feedback, and will never accept payment unless you are 100% satisfied with the lesson. I am willing to work in whatever atmosphere is most conducive to the student's learning.

Tutoring has always been a passion of mine, and I look forward to helping you achieve future success in reaching your highest academic potential.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Basketball

I played basketball at the collegiate level for 4 years at Texas A&M University-Commerce. I have worked multiple basketball camps at the division 1 college level including Baylor University, and also directed my own camps. I worked as a basketball counselor and coach at Camp Lenox, a summer camp in Massachusetts. I have coached numerous summer league basketball teams, and officiated the game in the summers as well.

College Counseling

I currently work at the University of Missouri in career development/counseling for our athletic department. On a day to day basis I work on cover letters, resumes, personal statements, job applications, graduate school applications, etc. I also perform career counseling, and advise students on college choices. I myself have recently gone through the graduate school selection process, and have recent experience.

Study Skills

I am a graduate student at the University of Missouri, so I have been through years of study skills and test prep. I have a 4.0 GPA throughout my undergrad and graduate studies. I currently work with student-athletes at the University of Missouri as a Mentor where I teach them organization and study skills. I have been a tutor for the past five years and a big part of tutoring is teaching the proper way to study.
