I am a fun loving person who likes to help children get to the next step in life through school. Reading is a very important subject to know, and I know how to do it with effective methods that most never try with children. I can do it in a way that best benefits the child, since every child is quite different from another.
If you are unable to come to me, then a way to get your child the tutoring needs he/she needs will be found. I have been working with children for a number of years, as a childcare provider, volunteer tutor in reading at Meadowceek Elementary in GA., and as an assistant teacher at Safari Childcare in Illinois, and know how to make them come out of their shell and shine, feeling better about their school work. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
The focus is on reading comprehension, the understanding of words--what they mean, the difference in words with same meanings, literature, on-text clues to show understanding of words in a sentence, how to use words such as Their and They're; Then and Than, Phase and Faze.
Correctly identifying your grammatical mistakes, and taking steps to make sure you are using correct syntax, word usage, and punctuation is what grammar is all about. This also includes understanding the rules of Grammar and how to apply them to your writing.
The focus is on works by authors, drawing conclusions on their works, picking out themes, and understanding what is meant behind the writings.
Proofreading involves going through a written assignment and making sure to point out, if any, all the mistakes made and correcting them properly. Knowing how to correctly proofread your work will better help you properly correct future writings.
The focus is on understanding the material you are reading; to be able to figure what it is about--i.e., drawing conclusions, answering questions that show comprehension of the material, etc.
The focus is on spelling words correctly, as well as knowing which words are misspelled and which words are spelled correctly.

The focus is on sentence structure, knowing how to correctly write a sentence, and connecting and transitioning to the next, so as to make everything flow smoothly.
