I am a Mechanical Engineering major who used to hate math too! I have seen the error of my ways and now enjoy learning about math and physics. I am familiar with peer tutoring at the college level through my Junior College Math Lab. It greatly improved my knowledge and one-on-one skills.
I love helping students grasp the concepts and solutions they are struggling with. This enables them to improve their tests and scoring and lessen the dread of such challenges. I require dedication and perseverance in both the sessions and the homework between.
I scored a 30 on the ACT and have learned much since then. One of my goals is to help someone surpass that score! I have also kept a 4.0 GPA through all of my college courses. This includes Physics and the entire Calculus sequence. Furthermore, I have superior communication skills. I achieved 7th place in the State STOA Persuasive Speech competition and was invited to Nationals in the STOA Impromptu Speech category. I also led the first place team in the 2012 Junior College Robotic Engineering Challenge.

Today we conquered a math subject I never understood, Domains. He challenged me with his own problems, and I left with a better understanding.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
