About Natalie

I do have experience in ASL tutoring and teaching at different universities and colleges in Ohio and New York for over 5 years.

At Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, I tutored ASL in their ASL Lab. We played ASL games to help the students to remember the signs and understand the concept how ASL works by communicating with me. I showed them how to use ASL proper way when they approach Deaf people in Deaf community and also learned how to work with Deaf clients/patients if they work in hospitals.

At Ravenswood in Ravenna, OH, I taught ASL courses to help the staffs who has Deaf clients at their Deaf home group for a few months.

At the Health Association in Rochester, NY, I Taught ASL classes to help adults to learn how to communicate with their loved ones, patients, clients and children, who are Deaf.

At the Rochester School for the Deaf (RSD) in Rochester, NY, I taught ASL Classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays night for 1 year. It was for the parents who does not know sign language and they have Deaf children who attended RSD (Rochester School for the Deaf). I helped the parents to understand how important the communication is for them to connect with their Deaf children. Deaf culture was part of ASL teaching there.

At Monroe Community College in Rochester, NY, I worked there as an ASL Tutor for almost 2 years. I loved helping the students who took ASL courses and it was enjoyable.

I am Deaf, uses ASL as my primary language, love to teach anyone sign language, help people to understand ASL and Deaf community better, love to help people to succeed in ASL to talk with Deaf people fluently. I always find ways to help people to improve their signing. For these children who does know sign language and they are Deaf; I jump in and help them to learn ASL and improve their education fast.

I encourage students to contact me as soon as they need the help with their homework and help with how to communicate with their Deaf children or patients or clients better.

If lesson need to be cancelled, I need you to contact me 24 hour in advance and reschedule the date and time.

I am willing to travel to meet you at your private location and meet halfway somewhere.

I am looking forward to help you success in ASL!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
