Webster University (Biology)
Boston University School of Medicine (Master's)
My passion for teaching comes from a long-standing commitment to helping kids and young adults, both at home and abroad. Since I was 18 years old, I have been committed to pursuing a career in pediatric medicine, and after my first trip abroad I decided I wanted to work for Doctors Without Borders. Working in education has been a great way for me to work with kids and young adults while utilizing my academic skills, and has been immensely rewarding both personally and professionally. I have over 10 years of experience in the field of education and over 7 years of experience tutoring from working in America, Africa, and Asia.
I recently graduated from Boston University School of Medicine with a Masters in Medical Science and completed a year-long thesis in STEM education. Therefore, I can provide outstanding educational services in the areas of science, math, standardized test prep, and developing study skills. When I teach, I focus on using the strengths of my students to help them improve on those areas that they struggle with. I believe every student has the potential to be successful in any subject, so a major goal is to spark an interest in them for the subject they are studying so that they become intrinsically motivated to succeed at it.
I am available in the evenings on weekdays and am available most hours during the weekend. Also, I am able to travel to most areas in the St. Louis metro area. My base rate is $35/hour if travel time is anything beyond 15-20 minutes, but if less than 15 minutes that rate can be negotiated. Also, I offer a free consultation meeting to ensure that the student and myself will be a good fit before we begin working together.
I am a committed, compassionate, and patient teacher that will always do my best to make lessons positive, productive, and as fun as possible. It is my goal to help my students succeed while ensuring that they enjoy themselves in the process. Thanks for taking the time to visit my profile, and I look forward to hearing from you!
