About Rogelio

Bio

Back in 2009 my parents created a non-for-profit organization which focused around art and providing classes for people and the community. Over time, as I started college, I started to host some of the classes and lead them as well, specially when I took a break from school. However, even after I returned to academia, I continued to teach some classes, those being embossing, and creating paper mache sculptures called Alebrijes.

After college, I plan to head straight to graduate school and apply for a master's in art therapy. The way I've understood the way I teach, is giving people the opportunity to create things they might not have thought being capable off, while also providing a stress-free environment that allows one to relax from their day to day life and release some of the frustration they might have.

This year, I will be graduating with a degree in Studio Arts with a focus in painting and drawing. I'm fairly confident in my abilities, and having the experience from working with adult groups also adds to my knowledge of what works and what doesn't for some people. There have been cases where some have taken my classes and at the end, their work over shadows mine, and that's a good thing.

There's a saying in my family, you just need someone to teach you how to use the tools. Being given that opportunity allows one to tap to their creative side. You never know, you might be a Michelangelo or a Picasso and not know about it
