About Isaiah

I've been a honor roll student for all my life. I've started tutoring as early as 3rd grade. I've been in numerous clubs including; Nation Honor Society, Business Professionals of America, Mathletes, and more! I've dedicated a lot of time helping students. As a senior in high school, I started my own peer mentoring program.

I attended Illinois State University on an academic scholarship awarded by Bank of America. I participated in mathletes for four years. Always got an A in math and been a year ahead of most students. In 8th grade, I went to the local high school with a group of other advanced students to learn Freshmen level math. I also did AP Calc as a senior in high school.

My main focus as a tutor and leader has always been to get everyone involved. While getting work done is super important, I also valued having fun and making people feel uncomfortable. One of the reasons I always made a great leader is because I understand leading is a group effort. I will try to make learning fun, I will try to construct a learning schedule based on your needs, wants, and interest. You will have a voice with me, so lets get started in reaching both our fullest potentials.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Basketball

I believe I'm quailed to teach basketball because I was on a basketball team that went to play in the State level. In 7th--8th grade I played basketball and practiced everyday. I was coached by my dad who was a basketball player & coach and we practiced everyday and all night. I have the equipment that might be needed, like practice cones and a basketball. I study basketball, I know the game, I have been taught, I have taught myself and I have taught others.
