I also served as a Teaching Assistant throughout college and graduate school.

Having gone through many loops myself in applying for college and graduate school, I understand how stressful it is to maintain good grades in high school. This is where having a great 1-on-1 tutor like me who can tailor to your own students' needs can help.

I received perfect scores in SAT and GRE math sections. In addition, I have experience in some competition math (UKMT Maths Challenges/Olympiads) and my high school curriculum was A-levels (Maths/Further Maths/Physics all A*s at A2 level). I am also familiar with college and some graduate level mathematics taught in the US. See below:

CURRENTLY TUTORING:
Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, Precalculus, AP Calculus AB/BC, Multivariable Calculus, Probability, IB Math.

COURSEWORK TAKEN:
Single and Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, Discrete Mathematics, Complex Analysis, Ordinary Differential Equations, Partial Differential Equations, Classical Analysis, Introduction to Stochastic Processes and Modeling, Game Theory, Linear/Nonlinear/Convex/Conic Optimization, Statistical Theory and Methods, Statistical Learning and Nonparametric Estimation, Probability Theory, Stochastic Calculus.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
SAT: 2230/2400 (800 Math - perfect score) - Taken in 2012
GRE: QR 170/170 (perfect score), VR 158/170, AR: 5/6 - Taken in 2016

Grades aside, my goal is to help the students I am working with become more confident in their own problem solving abilities. I am always open to any resources or feedback the students or parents can provide which may benefit the student. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or to schedule a lesson!

College Counseling

I graduated from California Institute of Technology with a double major in Applied Math and English. While I was in college, I was selected to serve as a Peer Writing Tutor for 2 years at the Hixon Writing Center. During this time I helped both undergraduate and graduate students with editing their course papers, academic journal articles and graduate school application essays. After college I went through graduate school applications myself, and I went on to pursue a PhD in Operations Research at Princeton. As a result I am very familiar with both the undergraduate and graduate school admissions process. I would love to help you create a great college or graduate school application!

I completed my 200hr Yoga Teacher Training in June 2020 at Honor Yoga. My style of teaching is a vinyasa-based flow class, and I try to make my classes accessible to everyone by suggesting modifications/options for those who are new to yoga or may have limited flexibility in certain muscle groups.

Highly Recommend!

Grace has been tutoring my 7th grade twin daughters in Algebra 1 for a couple of months now, and they have demonstrated real progress in their comprehension of the material, as well as the confidence with which they approach their assignments. Grace's approach to teaching Algebra aligns well with the methods being used in our daughter's classrooms at UChicago Lab School, which has really helped to reinforce their learning and prevent confusion between the way their Dad and I learned algebra as teenagers, and the way they are teaching it now. Having Grace working with the girls has also helped to considerably reduce the tension between the girls and their Dad by allowing him to take a step back from the role of live-in math homework helper/human punching bag, and return to just being "Dad" again. We can't recommend Grace highly enough!

Excellent tutor with knowledge and patience

Grace has worked so well with my 10th grader on trigonometry and discrete math. She is patient and helps with whatever assignment my daughter needs to complete in the session. After each of the 8 sessions, my daughter has said that she has a better grasp of the material and feels ready for the next class, test or quiz.

Great Tutor!

I highly recommend Grace! She has been working with my daughter for the last couple of months. My daughter's Algebra grade has improved. This is due to her having a better understanding of the content as well as having more confidence on tests and quizzes.
