Hello, I'm David! I'm a tutor, educator, and coach who enjoys helping people master their learning and taking pride in their work. I'm a medical student at Rush University and specialize in working with adults who are returning to school after time in the workforce. That being said, I have client of all ages, including college and high school students.

I earned an undergraduate degree from American University in Washington, D.C. After 6 years in the workforce, I returned to the University of Maryland to complete my pre-medical coursework through their "Science in the Evening" program for working professionals and career-changers. I was accepted to Rush Medical College and am currently pursuing a medical degree.

I have over 6 years of classroom teaching experience with adults and high school students. In my previous career, I taught medical and clinical science subjects almost every day. I also tutored small groups and individuals part-time. Many of my clients are folks who need help developing study skills. I also provide specific focus in the sciences: As a medical student, I love to help people understand these so-called “basic sciences.” Biology, chemistry, and physics can seem daunting, especially if you’re new to these subjects. Thankfully there are amazing resources available to help you master these concepts. We'll work together to find those explanations, go through them together, and quickly build your skills.

Test-taking skills are also a specialty of mine! No matter your career, you'll benefit significantly from learning test-taking skills. I'll help you practice and master test-taking strategies that will bring you success throughout your education and career.

A Respectful and Accommodating Tutor

David P. was an excellent tutor who assisted me in preparing for my anatomy lab final. He taught me how to use ANKI and how to identify different images of structures from various systems. He was very patient and always directed the session to what I needed help with. He also was super knowledgeable about the topic at hand. He helped me get a very high grade on the exam and showed me useful techniques on studying more efficiently.
