About Gabrielle

Bio

I'm a Postdoctoral Researcher at Northwestern. I have a received PhD and MA from the Psychological & Brain Sciences program at Washington University in St. Louis. My passions are statistics, writing, and research, and I have been a teaching assistant for Introduction to Psychology, Experimental Methods in Psychology, and Positive Psychology. I have also served as an instructor to both undergraduate and graduate students in RStudio & Stats workshops, and I've been tutoring through Wyzant for...

I'm a Postdoctoral Researcher at Northwestern. I have a received PhD and MA from the Psychological & Brain Sciences program at Washington University in St. Louis. My passions are statistics, writing, and research, and I have been a teaching assistant for Introduction to Psychology, Experimental Methods in Psychology, and Positive Psychology. I have also served as an instructor to both undergraduate and graduate students in RStudio & Stats workshops, and I've been tutoring through Wyzant for two years.

As part of my graduate training, I have taken several statistic classes, ranging from basic quantitative methodology (with an emphasis on probability) all the way to multilevel modeling. I have experience with certain structural equation models, especially those involving longitudinal data (e.g., latent growth modeling, RI-CLPMs). My program strictly teaches statistics in Rstudio, so all of my coursework and my research has allowed me to harness my R skills. However, prior to graduate school, all my analyses were conducted using SPSS, so I am sufficient in data wrangling and analyses in both SPSS and Rstudio.

My goal for my career is to become a professor of psychology at a research university. Part of being a researcher and being a professor is writing manuscripts, so I've done a lot of writing and quite a bit of proofreading! I enjoy the writing process--clearly communicating ideas, describing well-developed thoughts, and crafting the perfect sentence. To this point, I have 31 peer-reviewed publications based on my research, 19 of which are first author, so I'm here to help you develop and perfect your final product! I also won the American Psychological Associations' Early Graduate Student Researcher Award in 2020, and I spent Fall 2021 conducting research at the University of Zurich through a research scholarship funded by the Swiss government.

I majored in psychology at Pepperdine University and graduated in 2018, winning the award "Outstanding Psychology Student of the Year." I defended my master's thesis in psychology this past Spring, and am currently working on my PhD. My research, which focuses on personality psychology, has been published in various psychology journals.
