I am very knowledgeable and intelligent, yet patient and able to motivate my students for learning and success, GOOD GRADES. I have a B.A. degree in Anthropology from the University of Illinois where I graduated with Highest Distinction. I also work at the Oriental Institute at the University of Chicago which is world renowned museum of the Archaeology of the Ancient Near East. From the movie Raiders of the Lost Ark; both Indiana Jones and the museum director characters were both based upon two of our Archaeologists: Robert Braidwood, who is known for his work on the development of agriculture in the Ancient Near East and James Henry Breasted who founded the museum and was the first Egyptologist in the US.

I have both a thorough knowledge of Anthropology and Archaeology learned in class and in the field. I understand the development of man coming out of Africa, knowing the different hominids and their anatomy. Plus, I know how man developed from hunters and gatherers to the Neolithic when man started agriculture and domestication of animals and the eventually the development of societies. The most important fact that I learned while obtaining my degree in Anthropology is that you can not judge or compare societies to one another. Each culture is doing it's best to adapt to it's own environment.

I can guide the student through The Theory of Evolution, how to define culture and how we the ways we study culture, Primate behavior and how it pertains to human evolution, the shape of the hominids skulls and how they compare to other hominids, Mendelian Genetics and modern genetics, all of the bones of the body, how we write ethnographies, the development of writing, and the progression of more sophisticated materials to make tools. Then with Archaeology we can learn the history of Archaeology, proper excavation procedure, how we date artifacts-both relatively and specifically, the development of tribes, to city states and eventually empires, Archaeology stratigraphy, and a review of the various famous discoveries

Anthropology

I graduated from University of Illinois at Chicago with degree in Anthropology focusing on Archaeology. For the past ten years I have worked as a docent and tour guide at the Oriental Institute Museum on the campus of the University of Chicago. The OI is an Archaeology museum focusing on the Ancient Near East with galleries devoted to Mesopotamia, The Hittites, Megiddo (an ancient town in Israel), Egypt, Persia and Nubia. Currently I am working on a project to give interactive Zoom tours of the OI Museum to K-12, college students and adult groups. I have also taught and coached youth sports.

Archaeology

I graduated from UIC with Highest Distinction, my major being Anthropology. I was chosen by my mentor Professor to be a TA organizing and co-teaching a Freshman course in Maya Archaeology. Currently, I work at the Oriental Institute on the University of Chicago Campus, giving tours, as a docent, of the Ancient Near East galleries to both adults and children. Having done field work both in Anthropology, writing an ethnography, and in Archaeology at a Viking site in the Lake District of England; I am qualified to teach K-12 and Introductory Anthropology on the college level.
