Hello! My name is Kristy and I am a learning behavior specialist holding a current teaching license within the state of Illinois where I have experience teaching in a public suburban high school as well as junior high (6th grade). I co-taught English and Biology for two years at the high school level. I currently teach sixth grade language arts and math. I am well versed in teaching to the common core state standards for specific grade levels. In addition to teaching in the public school system, I am currently pursuing a graduate degree in Applied Behavioral Analysis with an Emphasis in Autism at Ball State University.

I have experience working with students on the autism spectrum, students with ADHD, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities and more. I have taught life skills, vocational skills, functional academics, rigorous academics to college-bound students and early reading and math skills. I have quite a range of experiences in the field of education. I specifically would love to help your student with a disability or without become functioning members of a classroom and/or community. I am a firm believer that every child can be successful, regardless of barriers and personal challenges. I will work with the student, and family to ensure progress is being made through regular data collection and evaluation.
