My experience in tutoring began during high school when I visited middle schools and volunteered to tutor math. Fast forward to college, and I did private tutoring for other students on campus in Algebra II, Calculus I & II, and many statistics courses. I graduated from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln and received a B.S. in Actuarial Science with minors in Mathematics and Statistics. I currently am working in Data Analytics in Chicago, as I have for the past 2 years.

Something in teaching that has stuck with me through my career is creating relationships with the students I teach. Whether I taught percussion or math, my favorite part was getting to know the students and making a real impact in their lives (big or small). At the end of the day, what matters to me most is helping people in any way I can!

I am flexible with schedules and can meet in person or virtually through your preferred medium. I personally enjoy studying/working at coffee shops myself. I work downtown in River North and live in Lakeview, but I am comfortable meeting in many CTA-friendly locations to suit your needs. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to get to know me better!

I have used Excel and R in extent in my collegiate studies and professional work, computing pricing and data analyses at work in addition to calculating premiums for insurance case studies. Additionally, I have created financial spreadsheets for multiple start-up companies and implemented inventory/project management systems through Excel. I know the in's and out's of MS Excel, the Mac version, and Google Sheets, and I'm keen to identifying helpful elements that apply to your subject. I have trained employees in Excel for 4+ years.

Samantha was able to keep my daughter engaged and on task the entire time!

Samantha was excellent at patiently working with my daughter to not only understand how to complete the common core math problems but also how to check her work. I look forward to working with Samantha again in the near future and highly recommend her as a tutor!
