About Chip

Chip grew up in Cedarburg, Wisconsin as a standout student and athlete. Playing both basketball and football in high school, Chip received college attention for both sports. After a stellar high school basketball career as a Cedarburg Bulldog, which included a first team all-state pick as a senior, he decided to stick with basketball and committed to the University of Northern Iowa. Joining the Panthers in 2010, Chip brought his toughness, basketball IQ, and winning ability to the program. He had a successful four year career finishing third on UNI's all time games played list with 135. Chip also excelled off the court. As a student, he studied economics and was a three time Missouri Valley Conference Scholar Athlete before graduating in 2014. This May, Chip graduated with his Masters in Health Administration from the University of Iowa. Chip is completing his administrative fellowship with Northwestern Memorial Hospital. He enjoys staying close to basketball by working with kids individually to improve their overall skills and appreciation for the game. Chip knows the importance of academics and is eager to work with kids in the Gold Coast Neighborhood.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Basketball

I was a three-time all-league academic selection, earning CoSIDA Academic All-District honors in 2014 and selection to the NABC Honors Court in 2013 at the University of Northern Iowa. I was a team captain for the Panthers in 2013-14, starting half of the team's games while averaging 5.2 points per game. I played in 135 career games at UNI, tying for the third-most in program history. I was an economics major at UNI and just completed my Master's in Health Administration degree at the University of Iowa. I now work at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

I have run 2 of my own basketball camps, coached 4 years at the UNI basketball Camps, and have worked privately with many kids on their game.
