About Michael

Over the last two years, I finished a master’s degree in screenwriting at the University of Southern California as well as worked for the university as a student worker. Here, I developed a clear sense of story, structure, and powerful writing habits.

While at school, I worked in the Writers Room for James Franco’s latest feature, The Mad Whale and through several production companies including Midwest Family Broadcasting and Elysium Bandini Studios. Through their employment, I discovered how to respond quickly in a crisis but more importantly, how to express thoughts to producers.

Additionally, I have also been produced in several other mediums of entertainment including: theatre (The Blue Rose and The Cup Ran Away with the Spoon.) and comics (Unlawful Good: An Anthology of Crime). Through these publications, I have come to discover the beauty of adaptation and the interconnectivity of art.

Additionally, I am a professional actor and photographer in the city of Los Angeles. I have starred in several features films and short films including: The Escape Plan, and An Afternoon of Anticipation. Here, I have become very comfortable in front and behind the camera. I know practical ways to earn a callback and I have had success as a teachers assistant, even helping students earn scholarships and positions in graduate programs.

But enough about me. I would love to meet you. Send me a message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Film

Through two years at the University of Southern California, I obtained a master's degree in screenwriting. Here, I worked with some of the industry finest minds including James Franco (on The Mad Whale) and Mary Sweeney (on my thesis script). I now have a strong sense of character development, structure, and dialogue.

Painting

I am currently a professional painter in the city of Los Angeles. I have studied under the mastery of Josie Lapczynski for two years and currently have 25 acrylic paintings to my name.

Photography

I am currently a professional photographer in the city of Los Angeles. I have shot headshots for dozens of actors and actress, conceptualized and developed character shoots, and orchestrated several fashion events. I am very comfortable teaching both the technical and creative side to photography.

Theater

Through four years at Eastern Michigan University, I obtained a bachelor's degree in theatre arts. While in school, I was frequently cast in multiple shows at once and walked away from college with 14 shows of experience. Additionally, at school I also held several TA positions. Here, I learned how to connect with theatre artists and how to motivate the creative muse.
