I have an MEd from Loyola University and a Masters from University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service. For over 10 years I have been teaching in elementary schools throughout the city of Chicago. I will bring, not only my love for teaching, but also my love of learning to each student that I meet. I provide a challenge, while always keeping goals within the reach of the child. I love to watch as students become more and more confident and begin to take control of their own learning. My goal is to have students walk away with more confidence and the skills necessary to see their overall school work and test grades improve.
I have experience with several of the different math curriculums that are being taught in the school systems including University of Chicago's Everyday Math and Saxon Math.
I have experience teaching reading and writing workshop, and have a strong foundation in aligning my teaching with Common Core State Standards. Teaching students to read, and then continuing to foster their love of reading while working on their comprehension strategies is something that I feel strongly about.

For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
