Common Core,
Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have been teaching and tutoring test preparation to middle, high school and undergraduate students, including Reading Comprehension and English for ACT/PSAT/SAT/MCAT/LSAT/GMAT/GRE. Virtually all of my ACT students achieve lift in their scores after working with me.

I currently tutor high school students in AP Statistics, and undergraduates in Business Statistics and Biostatistics. My focus in graduate school was in statistical physics, which includes probability theory and stochastic process theory (discrete and continuous), at a graduate level. In addition to having a deep understanding in the theory and application of Statistics, and stochastic modeling, I am proficient in MatLab and R, the tools of the trade, so to speak. Also I am an intermediate Python programmer, but good enough to explain to others how to do basic work.

I am a trained theoretical physicist. I have taught and tutored mathematics at all levels from middle school through graduate level. I would love to help you with your math challenges.

I give talks on Career Platforms, Resume Development, Emotional Intelligence at Work, and Networking. I am in the process of writing a book based on these lectures. As an example of my work, I talked at the ChemEng association at IIT last week, and have started counseling professionals on the topics listed above.

I have taught and tutored chemistry at all levels from high school through graduate courses for a number of years. I currently teach chemistry at the City Colleges of Chicago, and Loyola University of Chicago.

I currently tutor AP world history to HS students, and Western Civilization as well as Greek Plays (Tragedy and Comedy) to students at the University of Chicago. I also tutor macro and microeconomics to students at DePaul University.

I have taken about 15 university courses in mathematics, including four graduate courses in mathematics, that involved studing differential equations, both from a practical perspective of developing solutions (closed form, series/asymptotics, and numerical) as well as existence, bounds etc. In addition, about half of my PhD thesis work at Cornell focused on finding solutions to non-linear inhomogeneous integro-differential equations. I currently tutor a student in Sturm-Liouville theory and problems which come up in an advanced undergraduate courses in advanced math methods in engineering.

I am a trained theoretical physicist, with a PhD from Cornell. My focus in graduate school was in statistical physics, which includes probability theory and stochastic process theory (discrete and continuous), at a graduate level. I continued to use this training in my thesis work and when I was at Bell Labs doing applied research on failure mechanisms of metal oxides in semiconductors, adsorption layer (wetting) on connectors, etc.

EE overlaps with Physics to such a degree that I can and have tutored several EE subjects which are essentially the same as physics, ie thermal physics and thermodynamics, quantum mechanics, circuits, introduction to electrical engineering to name a few. I am a trained theoretical physicist, with a PhD from Cornell.

My focus in graduate school was in statistical physics, which includes probability theory and stochastic process theory (discrete and continuous), at a graduate level. My expertise spans the different areas of Finite Math: Model Development, Matrix Algebra, Linear Programming, Combinatorics, Probability Theory, Statistics, and Logic. All of this background was developed as a result of Math and Physics courses in Graduate school, and my training as a theoretical physicist after I finished my course work. Linear Programming was something I became expert in while working in Bell Laboratories after graduate school, where I worked on challenging LP problems in support of various real-world customer problems.

I have tutored students for the GED, and every one has passed whatever section we worked on together. Even students with learning disabilities.

I have been tutoring and teaching all levels of math from 7th grade through graduate level, including geometry and trig, for many years. I am a trained theoretical physicist, with a PhD from Cornell. I have published 4 book and almost 20 technical articles, plus invited papers at International Conferences.

I have been tutoring exam prep including the GMAT for many years, and have been tutoring GMAT type skills, namely analytical writing and problem-solving abilities, along with issue sof data sufficiency, logic, and critical reasoning skills are many believe to be vital to real-world business and management success. Virtually all of my students achieve lift in their scores after working with me.

I have been tutoring exam prep including the GRE for many years, specifically the General Test (all three parts) and the GRE Subject Tests in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Virtually all my students achieve significant lift in their scores once we work together.

I am a trained theoretical chemist/physicist, having gotten my PhD under M. Fisher at Cornell. Professor Fisher had a joint appointment in Math, Physics and Chemistry and trained all his students rigorously. My course work at Cornell consisted of exclusively of graduate courses in Math and Physics. In the course of becoming a theorist, in addition to taking Linear Algebra courses, I used linear algebra, at more and more sophisticated levels, as I took more and more advanced classes in physics, especially quantum physics, solid state physics, and statistical physics.

I have three graduate degrees that span Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics, but have always maintained an interest in literature and the arts, in particular Philosophy. I also tutor electrical engineering (digital circuits and circuit design) which entail the same principles, theorem, and ultimately calculus of logic as in philosophy, but for the different set of symbols. I also tutor and teach basic logic to middle school students as part of an enrichment program.

I have been tutoring exam prep for everything from the MAP exam (middle school) to ACT/PSAT/SAT/GRE/MCAT/LSAT/PRAXIS etc for many years. I also teach classes in exam preparation.

I have tutored MCAT (along with GRE, LSAT and GMAT) for some time. In addition to my experience tutoring, I have three graduate degrees that span Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. I did my undergraduate work at a Liberal Arts college prized for the well-rounded education that ALL undergraduate students receive - So I also tutor English grammar, and literature for college students. Finally I teach English to advanced middle and high school students in a special enrichment program.

I have a PhD in Chemistry from Cornell, a masters from UCLA in Chemistry, and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Chicago. I currently teach Intro Chemistry at City Colleges of Chicago and Loyola University of Chicago.

In addition to being a trained Theoretical Physicist, and teach and tutor all levels of Physical Science and Mathematics through graduate level. I have worked with several students with learning disabilities, including PTSD and ADHD. My own daughter has a rare syndrome, and my wife and I have been working with her therapists to remediate her developmental delays and other issues.

I currently teach Physics at Loyola University. I have been tutoring Physics for many years.

My years of teaching and tutoring of Math spans middle school to graduate school, from the disadvantaged to the very affluent. I use a wide variety of pedagogical tools to explain and implant mathematics concepts in students, all depending on the context of what that particular student needs. I look forward to helping you and your son.

My background is in statistical physics, which draws heavily on probability theory and statistics at the graduate level.

I currently teach test preparation for the PSAT, ACT, and SAT. I just finished teaching a course for 7th grade students preparaing for the MAP exam. In the Fall I am scheduled to teach PSAT, SAT and ACT preparation courses at a local Community College.

I teach reading and math to middle school students, and of course science and math to students of all levels.

I was a Regents Scholar in NYS as a high school student.

I have three graduate degrees that span Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics, but have always maintained an interest in literature and the arts. Even while doing my PhD at Cornell I audited classes in comparative Literature. I did my undergraduate work at the University of Chicago, which is prized for the well-rounded education that ALL undergraduate students receive. This study included Western Civilization using strictly original source materials, study of Greek Tragedy and Comedy, study of Philosophy and Political Philosophy, and Classic Sociology (Weber and de Tocqueville). In addition I audited several history classes as a college student: Roman History, English History, and History of the High Italian Renaissance. And I teach and tutor English (and Math) to advanced middle and high school students in a special enrichment program.

I have been tutoring ACT/PSAT/SAT/GRE etc exam prep for many years, especially the Math and Science sections. Virtually all of my exam prep students get lift in their scores after we work together.
