I graduated with a Film and Media Studies major with an emphasis in video editing from Kansas University in 2009. I have been a touring musician for the past 8 years as well traveling all over North America.
I have years of experiencing teaching/tutoring a variety of musical instruments including drums, guitar, bass guitar and keyboard. I also have taught a couple entry level classes on video editing and videography. Primarily focusing on Final Cut and Adobe Premiere for editing.
While doing freelance video production and editing in the Chicago area for the past 5 years, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects. My initial video background started with music videos, doing everything from concept to completion. Since then I have started working with well known advertising firms in Chicago where I work on everything from commercials, online content, tv/movie trailers and more.
Beyond extensive video editing skills, I have years of experience in all aspects of video production and photography. For the past two years I have also been a videographer and photographer assistant for several professional photographers in the Chicago area. I know my way around all the production gear as well as DSLR and ENG style cameras.
I started teaching music instructions as early as 8th grade and have been doing so ever since. I take pride in my patience with younger kids and make sure they never get discouraged when learning a new instrument. Having experience traveling the country performing various types of music, I am qualified to teach a range of instruments including drums, guitar and bass guitar. Music is my passion and I enjoy nothing more than sharing it with the world!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been a drummer and percussionist for 18 years. I have toured North American in several bands over the past 10 years playing various styles of music from rock to jazz. I have also been a music instructor as a personal business as well as for a city-wide company in Chicago teaching people of all ages. For 3 years I traveled to multiple schools in the Chicago land area providing an after school program called "Rock Band" to teach kids how to learn multiple instruments while also learning how to work together to create a song.
I graduated with a Film and Media Studies major from the University of Kansas. My study emphasis were in video editing and film theory. This has allowed me to work freelance in all aspects of video media in Chicago for the past 5 years. I have taught video editing, specifically on Final Cut and Adobe Premiere, as well as camera work in the Chicago area.
Music has been my main passion and focus for 20 years. I started my first band when I was in the fifth grade and still play, write, and tour the country regularly. Everything from music composition to music theory, I live for music and enjoy teaching others how to pursue the same passion. Still actively teach music lessons to people of all ages.
I have toured North America over the past 10 years playing bass guitar and guitar for several rock bands. Throughout high school and college, I gave guitar and bass lessons regularly. I taught a Rock Band school program in Chicago for 3 years where I would travel to Chicago land schools teaching kids how to play instruments and work together to play a song.
