I am a tutor with experience teaching English to adult learners. I first taught English as a volunteer during my semester abroad in Costa Rica when I was 20 years old.
Since then I have gotten my TEFL certification from the International TEFL Academy and haven't looked back! I love teaching English because I also love learning new languages. Learning a new language is extremely difficult and can be overwhelming and I can relate to the difficult experience. I learned Portuguese and Spanish during two separate study abroad trips and have taken formal classes for many years before that. I want to help others feel as excited as I do when I say something correctly or can spend an entire day speaking in another language.
I am happy to help all English learners at any level and will gladly make lessons specific to the student's needs. I am currently teaching English as a Second Language part-time but I am looking to take on more students in a one-on-one setting. This type of setting can be very beneficial and will help students to learn at a faster pace. I am available during the evenings Monday through Thursday and I have some availability on the weekends as well. I look forward to hearing from you!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
