I am a mother of 2 adult children ages 18 and 26 where I have always been 100% involved in their education as they studied through the Chicago Public School system. I have an MBA degree but have over 10 years experience working with youth and teaching in some aspect whether it is in the classroom or outside of the classroom. The most gratifying job that I have had in my career was working as an after-school assistant working with kids ages 6 to 18 years of age. I enjoyed tutoring and at the same time getting to know each and every student. My original major was education because I love working with youth, however, I ended up changing my major to business because I also enjoy it and knew I could not only make more money but it would provide me wider scope in terms of jobs.
I have found that I enjoy working as a tutor outside of the classroom more because of the great impact that I have the opportunity to provide each and every student. I have over 20 years experience in the non-profit arena where I have been able to help not only youth but adults in many different aspects. I look forward to going back to teaching people and find it gratifying to be able to help and make a difference in someones life.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
