I am very pleased to be working with WyzAnt. I love teaching, tutoring, and helping students to realize their dreams, especially in the field of criminal justice. I have taught in the criminal justice and human services majors for 10 years. I am originally from Los Angeles, CA, and have taught in both California an Chicago, IL, where I live now. I enjoy the field of criminal justice and social services a lot, as the two compliment each other very well.
I am a graduate of Grambling State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, and also a graduate of Boston University with a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice. As a professional, I am a Social Worker. I have spent most of my professional career working with at-risk populations in Chicago and Los Angeles's inner cities. I have over 10 years of experience in the criminal justice field, and I am confident that you will get lots of knowledge from me as your tutor.
My teaching style is eclectic in that I like to use lessons and activities that appeal to all learning styles. I like to take my time with each individual student to ensure that we are both on the same page and that you've acquired a complete and thorough understanding of the material. I am also very interactive in that I highly encourage interaction, questions asking, feedback, and participation. I hold myself to a very high standard when it comes to teaching, so if you need help in the criminal justice arena, feel free to contact me. I specialize in the following areas: Juvenile Justice, Introduction to Criminal Justice, Victimology, Criminology, Domestic Violence, and Human Trafficking.
If you are interested in tutoring in these areas, do not hesitate to get in contact with me. It is at that time that we can schedule tutorial times. I can also answer any questions you may have, thank you! I am very pleased to be working with WyzAnt. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a Social Worker by profession. I have worked in this field, with at risk populations, for over 10 years. As a Social Worker, I have worked with the probation/parole population, victims of human trafficking and domestic violence, and disadvantaged youth; this is how I have come to know the criminal justice field so well.
