Hello all. I have 2 years of experience in tutoring for DePaul Athletics while I was in graduate school. I tutored athletes majoring in communication and English. I tutored students working on portfolios and essays for class. I was also a graduate assistant for DePaul's Family Lab and I assisted with administrative work for the Family Lab's reading program for students ages 6-17 years old. I contacted parents to schedule appointments, met both the parents and students through the duration of the quarter, and notified families when spots opened on our waiting list.

What's most rewarding about tutoring students is the growth that the student gains from their very first session. Yes, as a tutor I help the student accomplish that day's or week's goals, but ultimately, the student is the one that chooses to apply their skills towards success. That goes for any level. I've seen students grow from the age of 6, all the way up to age 22. I love helping the student with whatever challenge they may currently have and then helping them over that little hurdle towards their own personal goals. The reward is the journey and the student solidifying the foundation for the next step is what I love most about tutoring.

I love basketball. I've played since the age of 9 and played all 4 years in high school. I went to open practice for a traveling team at the Chicago Bulls Training Academy and played in annual basketball tournaments in Keene, Texas. Following high school, I dedicated my spare time in undergrad and graduate school to becoming the best basketball player I could be. This included taking a weight training and basketball course my last year of my undergraduate career. Following my undergraduate career, I became a personal trainer for 2 years and continued to work on my overall game as a basketball player. During my time as a personal trainer, I worked with youth in group settings to prepare them for their respective sports.

As far as basketball in terms of Chicagoland involvement, I was an admissions volunteer for the Chicago High School Classic from 2008-2009. In 2010, I was named Director of Event Operations. I also was a game clock manager for the 2009 and 2010 South Suburban Showcase League.

Currently, I'm working on a fundraising project for a church in the southwest suburbs for a winter 3-on-3 basketball tournament.

Basketball never stops! The time is now and let's put the work in!
